We asked Gll to create a dubstep track. He agreed to give us rights for his own music.

France shooting: Four dead after gun attack on British car in French Alps near Grenoble

Three people were found shot dead inside a British-registered BMW following a gun massacre that also left a male cyclist dead and a young girl fighting for her life at a French alpine beauty spot near Chevaline, in the French Alps.

Three of the bodies were found inside a British-registered BMW estate car, while the body of a male cyclist was found nearby in what was described as a “dramatic” crime scene.

The girl was found seriously injured next to the car when emergency crews arrived at the woodland car park near Chevaline, close to Lake Annecy in the French Alps.

Items found in the car suggested that the victims were British.

A British cyclist is understood to have discovered the bodies at 3.50pm yesterday, and is now helping police despite being badly shaken.

One police source said the cyclist had “stumbled across a massacre”, adding that the dead appeared to have been victims of a “deliberate assassination”. Cartridges found at the scene appeared to show that the gunshots came from outside the vehicle.

The Foreign Office said that it was investigating the reports in order to dispatch staff from the nearest British consulate in Marseille to Grenoble where the young girl was in hospital. It could not say for certain if the victims were British. The British embassy in Paris was liaising with UK police.

One theory being investigated is that the occupants of the car may have been targeted because they were in an expensive vehicle, and were tricked into pulling off the road before robbery turned to murder. Police believe the cyclist who was found dead may have tried to intervene when he witnessed an armed robbery taking place.

Eric Maillaud, the investigating prosecutor from Annecy, said: “Two men and two women are the victims. The car is a British-registered BMW estate. One of the male victims was a cyclist. He was found near his bike in his cycling gear. The other man was in the driving seat of the car. The two women were in the back of the car.

“It is a dramatic crime scene like we see on the TV. There is a large number of gun cartridges at the crime scene.”

A police spokesman said a “young girl probably under the age of 10” was airlifted to hospital after being “seriously injured by gunfire”. The spokesman added: “We are looking at the possibility that the three dead people in the car and the young girl were all from the same family. A full multiple murder investigation is under way.”

No firearms were found either inside or near to the vehicle, the officer said.

Firemen who were the first officials to arrive on the scene found the three bodies in the car, which had bullet holes in the bodywork.

Didier Berthollet, the mayor of Chevaline, told a local newspaper that “the victims were not from the village”. He added: “We have never seen such horror on our doorsteps before. The police have interviewed everyone in the village hoping to find a witness. There are only 70 homes, so it didn’t take them long.”

Residents reportedly saw a white car leaving the area at speed between 3pm and 4pm. The car park in the Combe d’Ire forest, which is four miles from the nearest house, is often used by walkers who leave their cars there before setting off. Earlier this summer the Foreign Office warned British tourists driving on the Continent that they were regarded as “easy targets” by gangs which staged accidents to make them stop before robbing them. A French police officer said: “It’s the time of year, the thieves go for tourists who they see as rich.”

Lake Annecy is a popular Alpine resort and attracts thousands of British and foreign tourists every summer. The second largest lake in France, it is marketed as a place of “serenity and relaxation”. Known as the “Venice of the Alps” the area is popular with cyclists, water skiers, hikers and campers.

France recently tightened its laws on illegal firearms amid a worrying rise in the use of guns by criminals. In July a gunman using an assault rifle shot dead two people and injured five at a nightclub in Lille after being turned away. In March, Mohammed Merah, who claimed to be linked to al-Qaeda, killed four people at a Jewish school and three soldiers in southern France. He was killed after a 32-hour siege in Toulouse.

This influenced our idea because in this situation no body knows the killer and that it looks like shooting scene in movies. So like in our thriller murder will get away and woun't get punished. Also the motive of this murder wasn't cleare as well in our movie there is cleare motive but audience won't know aout it. Murder in our triller will be unecspecteble, as well as in this situation so it will be realistic.

It took quite a while until we have decided who is going to be in our clip. We conducted a cast to find the  best suiting actors. We already had a girl who is going to play the women agent rescuing another agent.

Our characters in the clip:

-The prisoner, agent being held by guards

-Primary Guard

-Secondary guard

-Secondary guard

The woman agent

We started our casting which continued two weeks. Our first job was to cast people for the role of the “ Prisoner ,the agent who is being held”. First of all we choose Mickle Lazarenko. We chose him because he suited our second woman agent Dayana. His hair style, colour. They both looked quite similar. But then we were told that we can’t choose him, because he is an A2 and he has got exams.  When we were told that we can’t choose him, our casting for the prisoner stopped. We started searching for our three guards.  It didn’t take much time to find the two secondary guards, but it took quit a while to find the main guard. First of all we choose our main guard to be a student, but then we changed our mind and instead of student we decided to take a teacher. So now we have a teacher playing our main guard and two students playing secondary guards.  When we finished with all the other we were only left to find our male agent. One of our members of the group offered to cast a guy named Maxim Baldry. After a successful  casting we welcomed him into our group.

Sound

Sound whose source is visible on the screen or whose source is implied to be present by the action of the film:

-Digetic sound can be either on screen or off screen depending on whatever its source is within the frame or outside the frame. 

 

Non-diegetic sound- sound whose source is neither visible on the screen nor has been implied to be present in the action: 

-narrator's commentary

-sound effects which is added for the dramatic effect

-mood music

Non-diegetic sound is represented as coming from the a source outside story space. 

The distinction between diegetic or non-diegetic sound depends on our understanding of the conventions of film viewing and listening.  We know of that certain sounds are represented as coming from the story world, while others are  represented as coming from outside the space of the story events.  A play with diegetic and non-diegetic conventions can be used to create ambiguity (horror), or to surprise the audience (comedy). 

 Sound is a really important part of the thriller, it helps to create tension. We want the sound in our thriller to be representative of a spy movie, therefore it should be slightly upbeat and jaunty and help define for the audience who our hero is.

                                           There is an establishing shot of the location. We decided to use woods, because it quit fits our plot (Russia, Syberia) The wood in the winter is going to be all in snow, so it would give us an expression of Siberia

                We see one of the guards walking towards the camera. Straight away we understand that the action is going to take place in the forest.

Here we can see series of photos showing step by step the arm of the main guard taking the gun and aiming it at the prisoner.

                                                                       

Here is a low angle shot of the main guard holding his gun and aiming at the prisoner. Low angle shot lets us know that exactly in this kind of situation the guard has more power than the prisoner.

Here we see other prisoner. Basically he is going to be wearing suit and he would also have a black bag on his head. The prisoner would be on his knees, we want to make audience see that the prisoner is not afraid, he doesn't tremble or twitch. There is a high angle shot looking at our prisoner which signifies him having less power.


On this photos we are going to see a close up of the trigger of the gun which is aimed at our prisoner. We will hear a gun shoot and then a close up of the back of the main guard. Seeing the trigger of the gun and then hearing the gun shot will make us think that the main guard killed the prisoner. But as we see the close up of the back of the guard, we would see him falling which means that there is some else involved in all this.After the death of the main guard there are going to be left the two guards. We will show them from the killer's point of view. The two guards will be killed too.

       After our woman agent kills the three guards, she walk her way towards our prisoner. As she gets near him she takes off the black bag from his head.

                                      

                                                    

He slowly stands up. She grabs him and they walk away. In the last part we use a tracking camera shot, this is used to show how our prisoner frees himself without her help from being and shows him as being a hero.
                                                                                

We decided to have Mickle Lazarenko as one of our main actors (The prisoner) because he suits the other of our other main hero's Dayna. He suits it ways of his hair style, colour and the overall way he looks. He looks like he is from middle East, which suits our storyline.

Mike Timpson will be our main guard. He is going to wear suit. He is the guy who asks for the gun and who also gets killed first. We decided to choose Mike to be the main guard, because first of all he is the oldest and he is mature. We quit like his voice, his voice is quit thick and it also suits the storyline. He is tall, which we would like our guard to be.

Anri Nakashidze will be our second secondary guard. We decided to take him, because of his iron facial expression, face which hasn't got any emotions. By just looking at Anri audience would think that this actor is playing negative role. His shrap look and iron emotions made us to make him one of the guards.

Why we chose Dayana as our female killer

 

One of the main reasons why we chose Dayana, its because she will attract male audience.

As i have written in my previous blog that we are going to have two agents. One of then is going to be the prisoner and another one is the one who will rescue. We have one female and one male agent. To be original we decided the male agent to be the prisoner and the second agent who will rescue to be woman. It didn't take much time to think about who will be the female agent. We have a girl in our school,Russian-speaker, who looks ideally perfect for our female agent role. Her name is Dayana Pinaeva).

Making female one of the main actors makes the movie not original action thriller, it gives the movie eccentricity. An examples of the movies where the main actor is female are:Charlie's Angels, Resident Evil,  Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Kill Bill

On this photo Dayana is near sea and the cloths she is wearing is in Jame's Bond style. Her facial expression, the brown glasses and bag makes an expression of her being some kind of agent.

I found the photo where we can see both Micke and Dayana standing together. Here we can see their face and it gives us an idea of how they would look together. Mickle-handsome,stylish, serious. Dayana- beautiful,dangerous,elegant.

We choose Dayana also because she will be attracting male audience.

How our idea came up

In one of the lessons we were told that we are going to film an opening of thriller. Last 15 min of the lesson we were given time to think about our idea of thriller. We have two Russian-speakers in our group (me included) so straight away we had an idea of something linked with Russia. We were brain storming ideas until one of our members of the group offered an idea of Russian army or something like that. Theo, is the guy who offered the idea with Russia. After each of us began to think about how the opening sequence should begin, who are going to be the main and secondary characters. First of all we wanted to film about Russian huge,strong guards and Russian army. But I didn't like the idea of showing Russia in such way and also it would be too simple and tritely. I suggested an idea about Russian agent being held by Russian special force army and then having another agent (woman)  who would save the prisoner. I want everything to be cool and not original. I don't want there to be any blood or stupid fights, everything will be done elegant and beautiful, like in James Bond movies.

Audition-analysis

I got my first feling that this film has a thriller genre was when  I saw the woman standing still with a white coloured dress (where white colour signifies innocence) and the man coming towards her dressed in all black(where black signifies negative feelings and bad emotions). The next scene was her lying in the bed and slowly dragging the white blanket upwards, this made me know that this movie is going to be based on raping and men behaving physically horrible to the woman. The scene where she was hiding behind the tree proved my expectations where she was being physically abused and  hiding from her porter. After I saw the spiky sticks in the box and her sitting on the floor and smiling  it gave a meaning to me of her starting to take revenge. First she remembered her previous life and how she was abussed and then we saw images of her killing and physically taking revenge causing them pain. After all these scenes it was clear that the genre of the film is thriller. The red colour splashing at white background at the end signified that there is going to be blood,deaths and turtures...

The usual suspect

On this poster we can see five men,where each one are standing in different positions which connotates their characteristics. Each one of them behaves differently in the actual movie.

I am going to start with describing the guy in the middle, because he seems to be the main one from all five of them. This is shown to us by him standing in the middle and being the tallest. His hand gesture is kind of showing that he is a king or prince. Compared to others,he is the tallest as i said, he doesn't lean on anyone which shows that he is self-confident and also his look which is sharp compared to others.

The guy on the left of him gives us a feeling of him being the most crucial and brutal. His hands are partly in pocket, he is standing still and his lags have most of the space which shows that he is independent and self confident. They way he is dressed also shows that he is different from others. He reminds me of brutal Caucasian people who are quit rude and who are always wearing black, like they have mourning every day

The first guy from the left leaves us a feeling of being the most funny. This is because he is the shortest from all of them and because he is kind of covered by the shoulder of the guy on the right of him. But sometimes people with such characteristic(being short and funny) are being the most crazy ones.

The person standing first from the right looks least confident. This is shown by him slightly leaning on the guy who is on the right of him,slouching and holding his hand with the other one. The fact that he is leaning on the guy on the right of him makes us think that he is quit weak (both morally and physically), that he is reliant upon others(not like the guy described in the third paragraph) and also him being the least-confident and least independent.

The second guy from the right looks the strangest. First of all this is shown by him wearing totally different cloths( he is wearing suit which shows that he is the most civilised and cleaver from all of them) and also that he is the only one holding his jacket. This all shows that possibly he has family, he has its own life and he doesn't want to get involved into what thees guys are going to get.

Props and their description

Basically our prisoner will be wearing white shirt, black trousers and black shoes. All his cloths will be clean, there is not going any blood,dust or any kind of dirtiness on his cloths. I want him to look cool,like James Bond.

There are going to be three people looking after the prisoner. But one of them is the primary agent, so I want the main guy from all three of them to be waring suit as well, and the other two guys will wear special force's cloths.

I dont want the guards to look too simple and dumb. So i will try to find such cloths which would look partly cool and also appropriate for a Russian special force soldiers







                   I want the Lady who is going to save the prisoner look quit cool and equipped. So i chose for her tight cloths which look both cool and sexy.
