Indie/Rock music is a very unique type of genre which
started in USA and later on became
popular in England around the 1980’s. Indie/Rock came from the genre of
American Underground alternative rock. In the 1990’s big changes took place for
bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and
Soundgarden, which became popular and mainstream within the UK and US. The title of Indie/Rock, takes its name from
the world Independent, not being influenced or controlled by others. The way
such bands show them being unique is done through dressing with different
styles and portraying a certain look in order for them to be and look different
from others. Such form of music is free
to explore different emotions and music , which does not appeal to a
mainstream audience. It is a completely diverse with different sub-genre’s
that include, Indie Pop, Jangle Pop etc…

Interests - Music instruments, Tumbler, Photography, electronic devices, social networks e.g. (Instargam. Facebook, Twitter, Whatsupp), piercings, tattoos, clothing, shopping, dressing up, bands, gigs/concerts (local bands etc. in small clubs), festivals, smoking cigarettes/marihuana, drinking, reading.
Dress sense - Shorts, jeans, acid wash, baggy shirts to put over t-shirt, jackets, denim jewellery, studded stuff, scarf, pretty little shirts for girls with printed images on it, old vintage clothing, glasses, hippy sunglasses, backpack, dyed hair, necklaces for girls, rings.
Why they listen to Indie rock - People like to go to festivals, they like to do photography like a vintage professional look on bands, they like to listen to such music as it is more guitar based.
How often - Very often, as it is a source of revealing the nerves and relaxing
What they would like in magazines - They would like the magazines to contain current artists such as artctic monkeys etc. The magazines they would probably buy would be Q or NME
This is detailed and through blogging. You have clearly identified the target audience for your band/artist. You have applied the demographic and psychographic profile well. You do need to identify and name the artists/band you are promoting.
ReplyDeleteYou have thought and applied clearly the VALS of your profiled target audience and considered how this forms apart of the music industry markets according to genre and youth sub culture. Not only that but you also consider potential markets for your campaign. This is compared to real band/artists.
You need to be clearer that this is your target audience and link this to evidence of a market identified by the BPI - which youhave a link to.
