Task 4 - How did we use technology in Pre-Production

In our research and planning we had to do a variety of tasks such as researching into conventions, looking at similar genre bands and their image and style, planning our shooting schedule and preparing the actual shooting day. The use of technology has enormously speeded us up, since it decreased the time needed for everything to be done

We used different types of digital technology, which helped us to keep a track on our overall process. Using iPhones, as an example, allowed us to make photos of our band and how they look together, as well as being able to upload images. We were also learning how to use the Sony FS100 camera, thus to be able to shoot on the actual shooting day

Using Internet had positively significant impact on our research and planning. It allowed us to gain a wider breadth into what we needed e.g. web sites of different artists/bands, familiarizing us with the conventions by researching into similar bands. What we also did is researched into VALS of our audience, thus getting more information about our audience’s tastes and preferences. Moreover, our shot schedule, costume list, call list and prop list were made in Google Docs, which is a very confortable and useful tool, which then allowed us to print the lists into blogger.

Moreover, personally I have frequently used Microsoft Word documents such as Power Point, Word Document and Excel. These tools has been very useful as they allowed me to make presentations, make the required shooting day schedule and make a list of all prop which is need via Excel
